Introduction

The PicsArt Shape Mask Tool allows you to mask your image with a shape with added options to get you creative. The shape mask tool can also be used to highlight a particular area or to just create a fun image. Let us learn how to use the PicsArt Shape Make Tool in this tutorial.

Procedure

In order to use the PicsArt Shape Mask Tool, follow the instructions provided below;

Step 1 : Open PicsArt along with your image.

For this particular tutorial, we will be using the image above which is of a beautiful butterfly. We will be using the image above to demonstrate the end results.

Step 2 : Open Shape Mask Tool.

On the right toolbar (when viewed horizontally), scroll upwards and select “shape mask” (the interface changes). You will now be presented will all the available shapes along with some additional tools which we will learn more about later in this tutorial.

Step 3 : Select any Shape.

Select any shape from the bottom preset. You get to choose between the basic geometrical shapes to some more additional shapes. Do refer to the image above for your reference.

Step 4 : Make some adjustments.

Once you've selected a shape. You can now make many more adjustments to make it look according to your eyes. Below is a brief description of each of the available options.

(1.) BG Pattern : The BG (background) pattern allows to change the look of the background.

(2.) BG Colour : The BG (background) colour option allows you to change the colour of the background.

(3.) Blend modes : The blend modes allow you to change the process of light passing through the applied shape mask back to the original image. In short, it allows you to merge the two layers creatively.

(4.) Invert : The invert option can be used to make the background to foreground and foreground to background.

Step 5 : Save!

With all of the adjustments made. If you are happy enough with the way how your image looks like. Do save your image by tapping on the check mark (✓) present on the top right corner (when viewed horizontally).
